Our little girl, at 37 pounds and over 3 feet tall, is growing up! We celebrated her third birthday on October 27th. Every morning following her birthday, she asked, "Mom, am I still 3?" At first, I thought she was already excited to turn 4, but then I discovered that she was afraid she would wake up one day and be 2 again. She was so excited when I informed her that she would never be 2 again. A few days later, she decided that she didn't ever want to turn 4. Then, upon reconsideration, she decided she would agree to turn 4 to have a birthday party if she could go back to being 3 afterwards. Apparently, 3 is a good age to be.
This year, Gabby seemed to have one party after the next. She began with a party at school. (In later posts, you will learn of the Halloween party she had on the day of her birthday and then a princess party following that.) To celebrate at school, they had little cupcakes, strawberry "ice cream" pudding with sprinkles, and naturally, baguettes. Gabby has been singing "Joyeux anniversaire" ever since.
Gabby was very eager to open presents the evening of her birthday when daddy was home. (She was not excited, however, when Claire wanted to "help" by climbing all over her presents.)
We LOVE our little Gabby girl and are constantly impressed with her maturity and her love and kindness towards others, especially towards her sister. We can't imagine our family without her and her sweet smile. Happy Birthday, Gabrielle!

Gabby is looking and acting so grown up now (except at dinner the other night ;) ). Can't wait for the Halloween party post to see Gabby in her full costume.
